JVC Everio GZ-MG730 camcorder review

The JVC GZ-MG730U camcorder has a good video quality, around 600-700px wide video, can be wide screen or normal ratio.

A very good stereo Dolby digital sound quality.

With the 30GB version you can record between 7 hours and 30 hours, which should be enough for most users, I personally don’t need the 60GB version.

Default sized battery runs for around 80 minutes so it will be hard to fill 30 or 60 GB of video.
You can get a battery that is 3 times the size and will cost around 60-70$m which should give you a 3-4 hours of recording time.

If you ignore the software on CD you will see the camera as a memory stick and be able to copy/paste the videos and photos to your computer freely which is very nice.

Video files are saved as .MOD extension and (from what I heard and did…) can be safely renamed to .MPG files so your PC players will recognise the format.

My 30GB version was around 540$ including tax and shipping so I consider it a very good value.

Funny Gmail support

Gmail gets better and better, you can feel safe knowing that Gmail has your back; I was surprised while I was writing an email and when hitting “Send” a warning came up telling me that I mentioned in the email about an attachment but nothing is attached :) And gave me the option to stop the sending in case I have to attach some files and I forgot. How cool is that ?!

This is a very common mistake that people do, if you write many emails it must have happen to you few times, you are saying that you attached some files but you forgot to attach them :) Or on the other hand you might not be very happy to get an email with missing attachments.

Nokia 6600 cell phone review

nokia 6600 phone I used this phone for many years, still works as new. Nokia 6600 is a very smart phone. I like that you can find many programs for it, including flash player, this allows you to run different kind of software.

A nice software that I seen was one that all owes to control computer’s winamp program, you can see playlist and controls on phone.

Other software allowed you to place the phone anywhere with bluetooth activated and it was sending images to computer acting as a wireless security camera.

It can be also used as modem to connect your computer to Internet.

It is very durable, for some reason I hit mine as hard as I could into the car’s windshield, the phone open into its pieces (back cap, battery, sim card, etc) but nothing is broken and it works perfect.

Youtube Banned in Pakistan

youtube logo Youtube site is now banned for Pakistan, the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority blocked access to this site around 22 February 2008 because of anti-Islamic content on this website. Pakistan’s service providers tried to block access by routing the requests to another IP address, aparently this blocked other people outside Pakistan from accessing YouTube.

Elmo did it again

elmo3 The popular toy Elmo did it again :)

Complaints ware received because Elmo is saying offending phrases again, a new version of the toy can connect to computer and learn phrases together with the kid’s name.

After a mother changed toy’s battery Elmo started to sing “Kill James” to his son James.

Back in 2006 the Elmo voice said to kids “wo wants to die” and it was supposed to say “who wants to try”. They say the error was because of some audio compression or some chip, however the toy clearly said “who wants to die” and this made some people say that it was something made on purpose by a person inside the company.

Stealth US bomber crashed

stealth us bomber2 A military accident made international headlines after a billion-dollar bomber crashed at Andersen Air Force Base in Yigo this morning. Here’s all we know at this point: a B-2, commonly known as a “stealth bomber”, had two pilots aboard and was taking off at around 10:30 Saturday morning when, for reasons still unexplained, crashed. The pilots ejected and were transported to the Guam Naval Hospital in Agana Heights. The U.S. Air Force confirms they were evaluated by medical staff and are reportedly in good condition.

Emergency responders were on the scene to include firefighters from the Yigo Fire Station. According to a media release from the Air Force, a board of officers will investigate the accident.

Mafia Island

mafia_island1 Mafia island (”Chole Shamba”) is part of the Tanzanian Spice Islands, together with Zanzibar and Pemba. As one of the 6 districts of the Pwani Region, however, Mafia Island is governed from the mainland, not from Zanzibar. Mafia Island has never been considered part of Zanzibar.

According to the 2002 Tanzania National Census, the population of the Mafia District was 40,801.

The people of Mafia Island are mainly fishermen; many also engage in small-scale food cultivation.

The island is a good retreat for adventure scuba divers, game fishermen, and those merely seeking relaxation.
